The service
Paralecto is a web app for reading PDF documents with an automatic translation next to the original, explanations of selected fragments and a glossary of terms. By using it you agree to these terms.
Your documents
- Your PDF files stay on your device. You confirm that you have the right to use each document for your personal study.
- Do not translate content that you are not allowed to share with a third-party service: selected text is sent to a translation provider, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You are responsible for the documents you open and for the copies you save to a file.
Translations may be wrong
Translations and explanations are produced automatically. They can contain mistakes, omissions and wrong terms. The original text is always shown next to them for a reason: check anything that matters. They are not professional, legal, medical or academic advice.
Free use
Reading, the library, saved translations and the glossary are free. New translations in free mode are limited, and the limits may change. Free use comes without a guarantee of availability.
Paid access
Paid access is being introduced and is not on sale yet. When it starts, there will be a monthly package and a yearly one, each bought once and never renewed automatically. The yearly package gives a fresh quota every month; quota that is not used in a month does not carry over. The current volumes, prices and terms are shown on the home page.
- Quota is spent by the length of the source text you translate or ask to explain. Viewing a translation that is already saved does not spend it. Fragments that could not be translated are not charged.
- When the term ends, unused quota can no longer be used. Your documents, translations and terms stay on your device.
- Access works with a secret key that you receive when you buy. Anyone who has the key can spend your quota, so keep it private. The recovery code replaces a lost key. We cannot show the key or the code again.
Payments and refunds
Payments will go through a payment provider. The conditions for refunds, the seller's details and the public offer will be published here before the first sale, in line with the provider's rules and applicable law. Until then nothing can be bought.
Availability and changes
The service is provided as is. We do not promise uninterrupted operation and may change or stop features, for example when a translation provider changes its terms. We will publish changes to these terms on this page before they take effect.
Your data
How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy, including what stays on your device and what the server keeps.
